French Crystal Regulator Clock by Samuel Marti 1890s

Description

Hi

I have for sale a 1890s French crystal regulator mantel clock in original condition with a eight day running movement in a very nice large gilded case and all run via a large vial Mercury pendulum.

French made by Samuel Marti & Co.

This clock has had the whole movement fully restored ultra sonic cleaned and hand polished around two months ago with new springs put added then re-built & oiled screws re-blued so runs strong for the eight days striking on a sweet bell to the rear.

The Case

The case is in solid gilded brass with mega thick bevelled glass sides in original condition, the case is very heavy standing 32cm high x 20cm wide with a depth of 14cm it is in perfect original condition very shiny has been very well looked after over the years, with 4 mm thick bevelled glass on all four sides the front and back are doors which open with ease, all of the glass is in mint condition no chips or cracks.

The Dial

The dials are in original condition in white porcelain with gilded viable escapement work to the front looks really good ticking away with the bold Roman Numerals.

The Movement

The movement is an eight day time and strike striking the hours and halves on a sweet bell a real quality movement, which still retains the original key and Perfect Mercury pendulum.

The movement and clock is made in France around 1890.

The movement keeps spot on time over the eight days; she was serviced and oiled around two weeks ago but was fully ultra sonic cleaned new springs re-built all screws re-blued two months ago so in perfect running condition.

Overall a very beautiful clock quite rare in this original condition that looks great on display keeping great time and looking even better. The photos do not do justice to this lovely old clock.

I will post but delivery is also possible via one of my two man and van guys please email me first for a cost and timescale.
