Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian silver-plated trays, produced between 1901 and 1910, often feature elaborate engraving, scrollwork borders, and cast side handles. The period favoured lighter, classical revival motifs compared to the heavier ornamentation of the preceding Victorian era.

These trays typically feature an electroplated layer of pure silver applied over a durable base metal, most commonly electroplated nickel silver (EPNS) or copper. Cast handles and rims were frequently applied using lead or silver solder before final plating.

Authentic pieces generally display manufacturer stampings or electroplate makers marks, such as EPNS or EPBM, on the underside. Additionally, signs of natural age, such as subtle base metal show-through on high points and authentic period construction marks, help verify provenance.

A large silver-plated tray works well set atop a sideboard or ottoman to anchor a drinks station or display decanters and glassware. Placing it on a coffee table or dining table provides a structured surface for grouping decorative objects and candles.

Clean silver plate using a soft cloth and a specialized non-abrasive silver polish to prevent removing the thin outer layer of silver. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners, dishwasher washing, or abrasive sponges that could scratch the surface or expose the underlying base metal.
