Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco furniture from the 1930s is characterised by bold geometric forms, clean lines, and lavish natural wood veneers. The movement emphasised modern craftsmanship, moving away from historicism towards streamlined shapes and functional elegance.

Cabinetmakers frequently utilised highly figured wood veneers such as burr walnut, rosewood, and macassar ebony over solid hardwood framing. Metal mounts, mirrored glass, and geometric inlay were also integrated to add contrasting detail.

Authentic pieces display period-specific joinery, continuous matching grain veneers, and geometric silhouettes typical of the 1920s and 1930s. Original finishes often show subtle age patina, with hand-applied french polish or lacquer on underlying hardwood structures.

Position the piece alongside contemporary upholstered seating to allow its rich timber grain and geometric form to serve as a focal point. Pair with simple ceramic accents or warm brass lighting to complement the vintage wood tone without overwhelming the space.

Dust the surface regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a quality beeswax polish periodically along the direction of the grain. Keep the table away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent drying or fading of the delicate veneer.
