The box opening to form a sloping writing surface with fitted pen and ink compartment set across the top. Original brass topped ink well and pen compartment cover, original patinated green leather writing surface. Two storage compartments for stationary behind the surfaces along with the original makers label for highly regarded London box maker David Edwards; dating this piece between 1827 and 1830. The finest quality and presented in superb original condition. Measures 15" wide x 9.75" deep x 5.5" high, or 19.5" long x 15" wide when open.
