Description

A French pair of gilded bronze triple arm antique wall sconces, the stepped leaf clad scrolling arms with pierced leaf bobeche drip pans and leaf bulbous candle sconces, issuing from an opposing elongated leaf backplate. Fully rewired and PAT tested. All our wall lights come with aged brass screws for fixing and spare bulbs.

French gilt bronze wall sconces, also known as appliques, gained immense popularity during the 18th century during the reign of Louis XV and Louis XVI. Crafted as luxury decorative items for wealthy estates and chateaux, these wall lights were designed to reflect candlelight off surrounding gilded surfaces and mirrors.
