A trumeau mirror is a style of French wall mirror that originated in the eighteenth century, characterized by a tall rectangular frame housing both a reflective glass plate and a decorative painted or carved panel situated directly above it.

Traditional trumeau mirrors were constructed using solid timber frame backings, carved gesso detailing, mirror glass, and painted canvas or wood panels finished with gilding, oil paint, or distemper.
