A delightfully tactile late 18th century oak candle box.

The box is of rectangular form with a sliding front and an ovoid hanging mount. The sliding front is surmounted by a slightly smaller ovoid top which sleekly conceals the wall mount and operates as a handle.

The whole piece has a wonderful patina and is full of character.
