Victorian Silver Christening Mug Tankard Birmingham 1878

Description

A quality Victorian silver christening mug or tankard with clear hallmarks for Birmingham 1878 and makers mark for renowned silversmith George Unite. The tankard has a tapered shape and stands on four ball feet with a plain handle which three fingers perfectly. A wide decorative band adorns the body with a chased profuse design of foliage. There is a wide vacant shield originally for initials and a corresponding one on the opposite side. The tankard is gilt lined, a mark of quality. This is a really nice clean piece, excellent condition and quality. Weight 40z/120gr
