Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

These cabinets were produced during the late Qing Dynasty, frequently for export or domestic display of ceramics. They feature dense dark hardwoods, glazed side and front panels, and intricate hand-carved crestings and aprons.

They were typically constructed from dense tropical hardwoods such as Zitan, Hongmu, or rosewood, combined with glass panels for visibility. Construction relied on traditional frame-and-panel mortise and tenon joinery without metal fixings.

Authentic pieces feature hand-carved details showing subtle hand-tool marks, floating panel construction to accommodate timber movement, and natural patination in unpolished recesses. Look for traditional mortise and tenon joints and hand-cut glass frames.

Position the cabinet against a neutral wall in a dining room, living area, or hallway to serve as a focal point. Use the interior shelving to present ceramics, glass, or curated object collections against dark wood frames.

Keep the piece in an environment with stable humidity and temperature to prevent timber movement and splitting. Dust regularly with a soft cloth and apply a natural beeswax polish occasionally to preserve the wood finish.
