Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

George III corner cabinets, dating from the late eighteenth century, typically feature clean neoclassical proportions, bow-fronted or flat-fronted silhouettes, and high-grade mahogany veneers. Designed to maximize room space, these cabinets often display delicate brass hardware and interior shelving for storage.

These cabinets were predominantly constructed with solid oak or pine carcasses veneered in native or imported mahogany, such as flame or plum pudding varieties. Hardware usually consists of cast brass H-hinges and decorative key escutcheon plates.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-sawn timber backing, hand-cut dovetail or mortise-and-tenon joinery, and natural shrinkage across wood panels. Original brassware will show subtle hand-finished irregularities and natural surface oxidisation.

Place the cabinet in an underutilised dining room or hallway corner to add vertical interest and functional storage. Pairing the warm mahogany timber with neutral wall paint highlights the natural grain pattern and wood tones.

Maintain the finish by dusting regularly with a soft, dry cloth and applying a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year. Keep the cabinet away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent wood shrinkage and veneer lifting.
