A rare English solid sterling silver quaich cup. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1950 with the makers marks being that of Deakin & Francis. It has been superbly designed with the bowl being engraved with the Glasgow Coat of Arms. The side of the bowl has been engraved ''FESTIVAL OF BRITIAN 1951 ST MUNGO QUAICH''. St Mungo is the patron saint of the city of Glasgow. It is in superbly condition, having no dings splits or repairs. It measures approx. 3.25 inches (8.2cm) across including the handles and 2.25 inches (5.6cm) excluding them by over 0.75 inch (2.2cm) tall and weighs 34 grams. A superb example.
