The slim trunk with long door and the base standing on the original plinth foot. The original black lacquered finish decorated with gold relief to the mouldings and edges, the surfaces decorated with the original oriental style Chinoiserie decoration. Engraved brass dial with decorative cast brass spandrels to the corners, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture. Eight day movement with anchor escapement and bell striking on the hour, fully overhauled and working. Thomas Bullock of Bath is recorded as working between 1758 and 1790 and many fine examples are recorded and illustrated in works by A J Moore - Clockmakers of Bristol. Presented in excellent original condition. Measures 81" high x 21" wide at the cornice x 13" trunk width x 9" maximum depth.
