Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A bracket clock is a spring-driven antique clock designed historically to sit on a matching wall bracket or resting surface such as a table or mantelpiece. Originating in 17th-century Britain, ebonised versions feature timber cases finished with dark stain to emulate imported ebony wood.

Georgian bracket clocks combine stained timber cases with brass carrying handles, cast brass corner spandrels, and glass dial doors. Internal mechanisms typically consist of twin fusee movements driving a silvered brass chapter ring.

Authentic examples display hand-engraved maker signatures on the dial or backplate, cast spandrels secured with screws, and hand-cut steel and brass gears. Age-related oxidation on brass elements and minor friction wear near winding arbors are standard features.

Position the timepiece on a central fireplace mantelpiece, a console table, or within an open bookcase layout. Contrast the dark ebonised case against light modern backdrop surfaces or align it alongside contemporary structured decorative objects.

Dust the exterior regularly using a soft, dry lint-free cloth and apply microcrystalline wax sparingly to protect the stained wood finish. Ensure internal horological mechanisms undergo professional cleaning and lubrication every five to seven years.
