Popularised by makers such as Minton and Wedgwood, these pieces often depict naturalistic, botanical, or whimsical motifs.

Majolica vessels were produced using soft earthenware clay pressed into plaster moulds to create detailed relief patterns. They were then fired and coated with lead-based metallic oxide glazes that yielded rich brown, green, cobalt, and yellow tones after a second kiln firing.
