Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Regency tripod table is an occasional piece of furniture originating from the early nineteenth century in Great Britain. It typically features a single central column supported by three splayed legs and is frequently fitted with a tilting top mechanism to save space when placed against a wall.

These tables were primarily crafted from high-grade solid mahogany, rosewood, or walnut, often featuring brass catch mechanisms for the tilting top. The central pedestals were hand-turned, and the legs were often decorated with hand-carved reeding or fluting.

Authentic pieces display hand-cut joinery, hand-carved details such as reeding along the legs, and hand-forged brass block fittings underneath the top. Natural patination and shrinkage marks around timber grain lines on the underside also indicate genuine age.

A Regency tripod table functions effectively as an occasional side table beside a sofa or armchair, or in a reading nook. When the top is tilted vertically, it can also be displayed as a decorative accent in a foyer or hallway corner.

Dust the surface regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a coat of natural beeswax polish annually to protect the original finish. Keep the item away from direct heat sources and direct sunlight to prevent timber warping and finish fading.
