George III Chinoiserie Decorated Press Robe

An impressive George III period deep red Chinoiserie decorated press cupboard with hanging to the cupboard and drawers below c.1790. Solid mahogany construction with architectural pediment to the top, blind fretwork frieze below. Double doors with framed and panelled construction to the cupboard, moulded waist below with two over three drawer formation. Moulded plinth foot with original bracket feet below. The exterior later hand decorated with a deep red ground Chinoiserie decoration to all surfaces to a high standard, gilt lined trim and edges. The double cupboard formally a press now with full length brass hanging rail complete with hooks for use as a robe. The drawers below with oak linings and brass Swan neck fittings. Superb quality and condition, separates into 3 pieces for transport. Measures 50" wide x 24" deep x 82.5" high to top of pediment. Internal hanging space 44.5" wide x 20.5" deep x 42" high.
