Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A military campaign chest, or campaign chest of drawers, is a piece of modular storage furniture specifically designed to be packed up and transported by military officers during military deployments or overseas travel.

Campaign chests were typically constructed from robust hardwoods such as mahogany, teak, or camphorwood. They feature flush-fitting brass hardware, brass corner straps, and recessed handles designed to withstand frequent transport without suffering damage.

Authentic nineteenth-century campaign chests generally feature a two-part construction that separates into two manageable halves for transport, fully recessed brass handles and corner brackets, hand-dovetailed drawer joints, and original carrying handles on the sides.

A campaign chest functions well as a focal storage piece in a hallway, bedroom, or living room, blending seamlessly with both traditional and contemporary decor due to its clean lines and rich timber tones.

Maintain the mahogany timber using high-quality beeswax applied along the grain, while keeping the piece away from direct heat sources. Inset brass fittings should be cleaned gently with a dry microfibre cloth to preserve their natural age patina.
