Many Huguenots left their homes in France to escape persecution. More than 50,000 refugees fled to the British Isles and settled predominately in London, Faversham, Maidstone and Sandwich; due to the presence of refugee churches. Today English surnames often linked to the Huguenots include Andrews, Baker, Barber, Cross, Fox, Hart and White. The figure has superb patination and measures 6.5" square at base x 29" high to the top of the spear (22.5" high figure height).
