The slim trunk with canted corners and figured veneered broken arch door. Panelled base with moulded plinth below forming the foot. Engraved circular silvered dial with subsidiary seconds dial set to the top half of the main dial, with original blued steel hands. The fine quality movement with shaped plates and dead beat escapement, rare month duration between each winding. John Morse is recoding on Southampton in the late C18th and previously in the Isle of Wight. Superb quality and original condition with a deep shine to the case, fully overhauled and working movement. Measures 78.5" high x 18" wide at the cornice x 9" deep.
