Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Silver produced during the reign of King George V (19101936) is characterised by balanced proportions, precise engine-turned geometric patterning, and functional elegance that bridged Edwardian decoration and Art Deco style.

These boxes are constructed from sterling silver, typically hallmarked at .925 purity, and decorated using guilloche or engine-turning lathes to etch intricate repeating patterns onto the metal surface.

Authenticity is verified through official British hallmarks stamped onto the rim or base, including the lion passant for sterling purity, an assay office symbol, a makers mark, and a specific date letter.

Place the box on a dressing table, marble bathroom counter, or stacked atop books on a bedside table to add reflective metallic texture and storage for smaller items.

Clean gently with a soft microfibre cloth and a dedicated silver polish, avoiding submersion in liquid dips that can harm internal fittings or strip deliberate patination.
