The two weight driven movement with anchor escapement and 3 day duration, the second weight powering the alarm with setting dial set behind the original blued steel hands. Bears the makers name George Wood, Nailsworth (spelt Nailesworth on the dial). George was the son of clockmaker William Wood, and is recorded as making many lantern clocks and was known to be working between 1720 and 1766. This small proportioned example in superb original condition, fully serviced and working with a rich original patina to the case. Measures 15" wide (at the cornice) x 11" deep (at the cornice) x 20" high from top of hood to base of back board.
