Georgian Mahogany Brass Bound Writing Slope

Description

A Georgian brass bound mahogany writing slope that dates to around 1820

In great original condition with a deep mid brown waxed finish with a brass cartouche and escutcheon and fitted with a Bramah lock

The inside has an ebonised finish with a replacement antique black skiver with gold tooling and it comes with a pair of brass screw top inkwells

One of the writing flaps can be also be locked

A divider to the left of the pen tray can be raised to release a sprung panel which reveals three secret drawers….

A very attractive piece that would make excellent addition to a period or contemporary home and would make an elegant present for a loved one

It measures 18 inches wide, 7 inches high and 10 inches deep
