Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Late Georgian writing tables, produced during the early 19th century, are characterized by classical proportions, high-grade timbers such as rosewood or mahogany, and functional additions like pierced brass galleries and inset leather writing tops.

These tables typically feature solid and veneered rosewood or mahogany, gold-tooled leather writing surfaces, brass galleries, and cast brass castors with hand-carved timber supports.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-cut dovetail joints on frieze drawers, original brass castors secured to carved legs, natural grain variations in dark rosewood veneers, and age-related wear on the leather top.

Position the table in a home office or living room as a focal desk, paired with a contemporary neutral chair, modern task lighting, and minimal desktop accessories to accentuate the rich timber grain.

Apply clear beeswax periodically along the rosewood timber to retain moisture, keep the table away from direct sunlight or radiators, and clean the leather surface using specialised leather conditioners.
