Description

An unusual 19th century Bohemian ruby glass and white overlay scent bottle with hand painted gilt stars and silver lid, c.1860.

The scent bottle is of an extremely attractive form with a nipped waist and cut away white overlay creating concentric circles of ruby glass, within each of which is a hand-painted gilt star. The lid is unmarked but tests as silver. The bottle stopper fits snugly.

There are a few very small nibbles to the overlay in areas but generally the piece remains in an excellent condition.
