Stunning Arts & Craft Spot-hammered Silver Jewellery Box By Henry Matthews, Birmingham 1905

This delightful Edwardian silver Arts & Craft / Art Nouveau silver jewellery box is dated Birmingham 1905 and was made by the illustrous Henry Matthews. Of oval form, the hinged cover with planished decorations surrounding a vacant oval cartouche. The cover with an unusual raised and pierced scroll border.The plain sides raised on elaborate paw legs. Gilt inner lid and green velvet interior. The base solid silver, always a sign of quality.
