Victorian Polished Slate Mantel Clock

A Victorian polished slate and Sienna marble arch top 8 day mantle clock with bell chiming c.1885. The arched top polished black slate case trimmed with a panel of Sienna marble to the front and two matching bands to the stepped plinth foot. 8 day Paris made movement with visible 'Brocot' dead beat escapement to the two piece white porcelain enamel dial, striking on a bell on the hour and half hour. Cast brass bezel forming a hinged door with quarter plate bevelled edge glass view window. Small proportions for this type of clock and presented in excellent condition with a deep shine, fully serviced and working. Measures 12.5" high x 8.5" wide x 5.75" deep.
