Jane Short Antiques has dated this piece to the 1940s.
They both move their beaks and tails in time to their singing and the red birds also turns its head. The sound is pure with no mechanical sounds at5 all.

Apparently this singing bird was found in a deceased estate and it was wrapped and found in the attic and clearly never used. The owners children had no idea it exisited. We have sold many of these singing birds over the years and we believe that this is the best one we've ever found.. The birdsong is loud, clear and sweet and the birds themselves are in very good condition with their colours still bright and no loss of feathers.
We can snd a little video of them singing on request.
