A fine Regency period oil on canvas portrait of a young man. The painting shows the head and shoulders of a handsome, blond haired, blue eyed youth, wrapped in a red cloak. The work is of a very high level and the youth really looks out of the work, there is a signature to the lower right but it is illegible. The work has been lined probably about fifty years ago, but does not appear to have been cut down or to have any damage, it has a typical craquelure of age. The work is mounted in a slim late nineteenth century frame.
