Skippings Fine Arts is run by Tamara de Poniatowska, a Cambridge University educated art historian, and former expert at the Paris auction house.
Skippings specialises in late 19th to mid 20th century pictures - mostly with a French connection- and also occasionally present choice pieces of Haute Epoque sculpture and extra European art.
Most of the paintings you will encounter at Skippings were done by artists lived in periods of political and social unrest, who travelled the world to study in Paris - often with very limited means.
They made a living from their art, exhibited in prestigious exhibitions. Their work is held by international museums. I'd like to introduce them to you. They are worth knowing, and their work provides excellent value for money.
Yet art is not just about objects and artefacts. It is about how objects can transform and brighten an environment to make you feel good. It is this ethos that has driven me to establish Skippings Fine Arts as a the place where to find comfort in beauty and the joy of creativity.
Paintings may be viewed in Norwich and in Paris, as well as in London and Cambridge by appointment. Please contact us if you would like further details and images of an artwork.
Thank you.
