How do I identify an Edwardian desk?

Edwardian desks often display lighter timbers, satinwood stringing, and influences from Georgian revival styles. They tend to appear less heavy than their Victorian predecessors while retaining traditional drawer configurations.

Are bedside cabinets standard heights?

Bedside cabinets vary in height depending on the decade and mattress levels they were designed to accompany. Victorian and Edwardian versions often sit lower than modern standards, reflecting historical bedroom furniture proportions.

Where should I place a kneehole desk?

A kneehole desk works well against a wall or freestanding in the centre of a room if the back is finished. Freestanding models allow access to drawers and finished timber panels from multiple angles.
