How were these lamps used historically?

They were placed upon desks, side tables, and writing surfaces to provide focused illumination for reading or working. Beyond utility, they acted as status symbols and artistic focal points within domestic interiors.

How do I care for antique metal lamps?

Dust the surfaces regularly with a soft, dry cloth to prevent the accumulation of grime on intricate metalwork. Avoid chemical polishes that can strip away original patinas and historic surface finishes.

How can I tell Art Deco from Art Nouveau?
