How do I clean rush seats?

Brush the woven rush gently with a soft dry brush to remove dust and loose debris. Avoid using liquid cleaners, which can cause the natural plant fibres to rot. Spills should be blotted immediately with a dry cloth rather than rubbed into the weave.

Individual chairs vary slightly in turning or proportion because they were gathered together over time. This grouping method was common in country houses where dining sets grew organically rather than being purchased all at once.
