How do I choose the right size?

Measure your available floor space carefully, allowing ample room for chairs and movement around the table. Consider how many people you plan to seat regularly versus occasional gatherings. Larger refectory and dining tables require substantial clearance, while compact console, lamp and bedside tables fit easily into smaller domestic corners.

What is a laundry table?

A laundry table is a functional historic work table designed for domestic chores such as folding linens or washing tasks. These pieces typically feature sturdy wooden tops and straightforward frames. In modern interiors, buyers often utilise them as kitchen prep islands or side surfaces due to their practical proportions and honest construction.

Can I use these tables daily?

Yes, these tables were originally constructed for heavy everyday use in farmhouses, kitchens and workrooms. Solid hardwood and thick plank construction ensure durability for modern dining and working. Routine care and appropriate surface protection will preserve the historic timber and natural patina for continued daily service.

How do I care for antique wood?

Maintain the timber by dusting regularly with a soft, dry cloth and avoiding harsh chemical cleaning products. Direct sunlight and sudden temperature shifts can cause historic wood to dry out or warp. Apply natural beeswax periodically to nourish the grain and protect the surface from moisture without masking the character.
