Were these converted to electricity?

Many items retain their original configurations for wax candles, while others have been adapted over time to function as table lamps or wired wall lights. Conversions range from reversible wiring to permanent alterations, so inspecting the fitting and base is necessary to determine the original state.

What styles are common?

The selection is dominated by nineteenth-century revivals, including Louis XVI, Rococo, Empire, and Neoclassical designs. These styles draw on earlier historical motifs associated with French royal courts. Details such as acanthus leaves, urns, putti, and classical draping help identify the specific aesthetic lineage of each piece.

How are pairs matched?

Pair items share identical casting moulds, dimensions, and patination techniques, though minor hand-chasing variations naturally occur in antique metalwork. Checking the weight, base construction, and arm attachment methods confirms whether two pieces were created together as a matching set.
