Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Black Forest clock garniture is a decorative set originating from the Brienz region in Switzerland during the nineteenth century, typically comprising a central carved clock flanked by two matching ornamental sculptures.

These clocks were predominantly hand-carved from native European hardwoods, such as linden wood or walnut, featuring depictions of alpine wildlife, foliage, and naturalistic rockwork surrounding a mechanical brass movement.

Authentic pieces display hand-carved details with subtle tool marks, natural patina on the wood surface, and mechanical clockworks often stamped with European maker marks or serial numbers rather than modern components.

A carved clock set can serve as a focal centrepiece on a grand fireplace mantelpiece, a dark wood sideboard, or within a traditional library space to add architectural texture and historical depth.

Keep the wooden casing away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent cracking, dust gently with a soft dry brush, and apply a high-quality microcrystalline wax sparingly to maintain the protective finish.
