Description

For your consideration is this superb Art Deco gents manual watch made in New York in 1943 by the makers BULOVA. This gents watch features a striking Art Deco dial and is ready to wear having just undergone a full overhaul and professional servicing. 17-jewel BULOVA 8AH hand-wound mechanical movement.

In superb condition with stainless back free from engravings. A really handsome looking watch that comes complete with a new unworn leather strap in mid tone tan colour.

Size 23mm wide x 38mm total length

Width: 23mm at the shoulders, narrowing to 20mm, excluding crown.

Length: 28mm without lugs; 38mm total length including lugs.

Thickness: 7mm, including crystal.

Viewable dial/crystal: 18mm x 20mm.

Strap: 16mm tapering slightly to 14mm at the buckle.

Wrist fitting: The watch should fit a wrist size of between 160mm and 190mm.

This watch is powered by a good-quality BULOVA 17-jewel 8AH hand-wound mechanical movement. The 10AX was manufactured from 1943 until 1948 and features a Breguet hairspring, as used by other high-end watch companies, including Rolex, and noted for aiding more consistent timekeeping throughout the duration of the wind.

This particular movement is stamped with Bulova’s cross symbol date code for 1943, matching the date of the case itself.

Good quality 17-jewel Swiss-made Bulova 8AH mechanical hand-wound movement FULLY SERVICED, CLEANED AND FRESHLY LUBRICATED IN JUNE 2023. It winds and sets smoothly and is running very well and keeping time.

This watch is perfect both for everyday wear and for adding to the collections. A lovely watch any gentleman would love to wear. Shows no wear-through to the gold. Recently serviced last month, this watch keeps good time and has also been ultrasonically cleaned so it's as hygienic as possible.
