George III Mahogany Corner Washstand with Copeland Spode Dressing Set
 
A fine mahogany veneered piece from the reign of George III and in very good condition, with segmental up-stands to the rear sides of a segmental top, pierced to receive a 4-piece dressing set comprising jug & bowl plus one shallow & one deep pot and with cross-banded outer edge, over cross-banded & strung frieze, above an intermediate cabinet with a single central drawer that has a simple brass ring drop-handle, together with faux drawer fronts to either side with little bone handles, all with satinwood edging, all supported on tapering square supports, out-swept to the front and united by a tripartite stretcher with circular jug plate to its centre, this lovely corner washstand comes complete with the early 20thC Copeland Spode hand-decorated bone china dressing set shown and will charm in the most elegant of homes.

This piece dates from the period 1760-1811, so you may expect the mature character & patina of considerable age, together with wear & tear commensurate with normal use, including some minor shrinkage cracks but, in all other respects, it''s in very good, clean & sound condition and is ready to use in your home.
