Magnificent Large Carved Black Forest Bear Clothes Brush Caddy C.1900

Description

Late Victorian in era this wonderful carved bear from the Black Forest region is beautifully carved from a single piece of wood and retains his two large glass eyes.

There standing bear accommodates two clothes brushes both match and appear to be original; one larger one with stiffer bristles and one smaller one that he holds with softer natural bristle which would have been used to clean one's hat.

It's not often that a large piece like this comes along, perfect for the front hallway and actually usable. Excellent condition standing 13 1/2" tall to top or rear brush with a base measurement of 6 1/4" x 4 7/8". A handsome and charming addition to your collection.
