Antique silver Limit pocket watch and chain.

The watch has a signed stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The Limit brand name was first registered in 1917 by Hirst Brothers of Oldham, UK. They imported Swiss watches and branded them with the brand name Limit.

The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the case backs for 1919 with a maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison, a Birmingham based case maker and supplier to various watch makers. The case is in beautiful condition, nice crisp engine turned detail to the back of the watch along with a central vacant cartouche.

The thick glass lens is in good condition.

The signed dial is in lovely condition.

The watch comes with a single silver chain, 33cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. The date letters are difficult to read but the chain is probably from the early 1900s. Each of the links has the silver lion mark. Also included is an 1884 silver swivel, one of the stones is very marked as shown in the photo. The chain and swivel weigh 38g.

The watch and chain come in a new presentation box.
