A Jaques Staunton Weighted Boxwood & Ebony Chess Set, circa 1915-20

both kings stamped JAQUES LONDON in red, the chessmen with green baizes to their undersides, in a mahogany box with central divide and green label (with coiled border): J. Jaques & Son Ltd, London, England and Howard Staunton’s facsimile signature (no key).

King: 9.9cm (4 inches) high

Pawn: 5.6cm high

Box: 22.1cm wide, 18.5cm deep, 10.3cm high.
