Description

These are two very interesting silver army badges.

Hodsons Horse was formed in 1857 in India as an irregular cavalry regiment under the command of William Stephen Raikes Hodson.

The regiment underwent a number of name changes these are the 9th.

The badges depict two crossed Lances, are each marked to the back for London 1917 and the Goldsmiths & Silversmiths mark.

Both in super condition, both have fully working pins.

Large pin H 4.7 cm W 3 cm

Small pin H 3 cm W 2.4 cm

Would be prepared to split if requested.

Declaration

Digby Antiques (Wiltshire) has dated this piece to the 1920s.
