William Stephen Coleman1829-1904.London figure painter and illustrator; brother of artist Miss Helen Cordelia Coleman.Exhibited at SS and elsewhere.Worked for Mintons Art Pottery and designed many tiles and plates for them.Illustrated many books including ‘Natural Picture Book for Children’ 1861 and ‘ Our Garden Friends’ 1863-64. ‘Children Boating on the River’ unsigned watercolour, image size 13x19 cms; framed size 35x39 cms.This delightful watercolour has been newly framed with a wash line double mount and has been cleaned by my excellent art restorer.
