Circa 1800. A quality Dutch walnut and burr walnut three-part bureau bookcase. The top surmounted by classic rococo carving, with a large ebonized shell with a bird sitting in it. Two doors with burr walnut panels framed in ebony with foliate carving in the top and in the bottom, two pull out candle slides, well fitted interior with a well, serpentine drawers, book slides and pigeon holes. In the serpentine base, three full length drawers with classic Dutch rococo pierced handles with elegant escutcheons. Beneath this, further beading and ebonized frieze, standing on blocks at the back and hairy paw feet in the front.
