Description

A late 19thC French set of horn and silver servers c1880. The servers comprise a long spoon and fork made of natural carved and polished horn, attached to a long silver ferrule and handle, which are decorated with an acanthus and shell pattern. There is a hallmark at the top of each handle. The spoon handle is most legible and appears to be a handled measure or jug with initials SV or SW. From my research, this might (not guaranteed) correspond to a hallmark in 1880 of Salomon & Walbert. The servers are in excellent condition, boxed, and are both useful and decorative.
