Simply beautiful ! A rare Registration Marked example, in excellent condition, of a Mid 19th Century Antique English Victorian Gaudy Welsh Jug,  decorated in ''Shanghai'' pattern by Bayley & Ball of Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. The shape, derived from that originally introduced by Mason''s under the product name ''Fenton'', registered by Bayley & Ball on 15 November 1845, Patent No. 31128. Cf. :- A marked example of an identical, though smaller jug is illustrated in Volume 1 of Monica South''s superb work of reference, ''Gaudy Welsh ~ A Visual Reference''.
