Aramis Antiques has dated this piece to the 1910s.
The silver photo frame is Art Deco in style with a plain silver surround. The lower part of the frame has more depth than the sides and top, intended for an inscription, popular at the time, but never fulfilled on this piece. The silver frame is mounted on a quality oak easel back, with silver keepers and and a silver overlap at the top to keep the easel back in place. Excellent condition - a photo frame made at the start of the Art Deco era and heralding that style, and with a Chester hallmark too.
