A rare survival from the mid 18thc is this superb leather fire bucket....it is in original condition with a natural patina to the leather and it has a sturdy copper rim and rivets that join the bucket down the side and around the base....what is surprising is that it still retains the original leather strap and fixings....these very collectable buckets were filled with sand.....each bucket was sealed with pitch, waxes and oils and often marked so that it could be checked who helped with the fire and to whom they belonged.....
