Description

A small, very attractive and good quality late 18th century mahogany book press. The base having 2 mahogany lined drawers with inlaid ebony escutcheons and 2 working keys. The press has applied half turnings throughout and fully working spiral thread mechanism which has a removable peg handle. The whole raised on turned feet with a wonderful patina, a rare collectors item previously sold by Spillman & Co. of London. Dimensions:- Height (closed)…20’’/ 51cm. Width…14.25’’/ 36cm.
