Rowland Henry Hill 1873-1952.Landscape and figure painter in oil and watercolour Born Halifax.Studied at Halifax and Bradford Schools if Art,and at the Herkomer School at Bushey.Exhibited at the RA, in the provinces and at the Paris Salon.Lived at Hinderwell .A member of the Staithes Group and a Vice President of the Yorkshire Union of Artists for many years. ‘ Tate Hill Pier and the East Cliff Whitby, Yorkshire’ signed watercolour,dated 1930; image size 25.5x39cms,framed dimensions ;45.5x57.5cms.This delightful atmospheric watercolour has been newly framed and cleaned by my excellent art restorer.
