An incredibly rare Victorian antique silver vinaigrette. Made in the shape of an open mussel by Sansom Mordan & Co in 1876 in London. Although not hallmarked there are makers marks and a registration mark for the 29th of December 1876. The grill is gillded and fret cut with swags and swirls. It closes beautifully with a tight hinge and has a suspension ring. An extremely collectable piece which is unbelievably rare.
